Urban Myth Club Gives Downtempo Music a New Meaning

Myth Festival Club is the newest player to Downtempo Electronica Genre. If you are unfamiliar with downtempo electronica, other names include are chill out or lounge. Artists in this genre include Zero 7, Royksopp, Lemon Jelly and much more. If you like those bands, you are bound to like this new group, Myth Festival .







If you aren't familiar with them, here's a little background on them. They were formed when electronica artist Dezz met Hollywood film composer Stephan Barton to create tracks that would plot the future course of the club. Urban Myth Club was formed when Dezz hooked up with producer Ian Sanderson. Sanderson is famously known for his Cuckooland samples, one of which had been used on film, TV, and by hundreds of artists including Massive Attack, Lemon Jelly, Prodigy and the Beastie Boys.

As a result of that, additional members followed including vocalists Clare Szembek (Captain, The Funky Lowlives) and Rowan Godel. Other celebrity members will remain confidential.

Myth Festival  Club became viral as soon as the single "I Feel It" hit the internet. With just word of mouth advertising, this underground digital release broke the Top 30 iTunes chart and radio airplay followed. Along with this, there was a leaked album sampler that wasn't supposed to be released but made its way to a Canadian DJ who playlisted six tracks from the album on his show. Next came much more success which included the band making the number one spot on MySpace's "Top Artist" list.
